Lenotre Paris believes the prime location of its recently opened eatery on Jumeirah Beach Road will be key to its success, not least because it is set to benefit from the high income traffic that visits neighbouring Spinneys.
“Spinneys is considered the most high end of the supermarkets here in Dubai, so it makes good business sense because we are both targeting the same market,” says Camille Abi-Aad, general manager, Lenotre.
“I believe our location will benefit us and Spinneys at the same time. Shoppers at Spinneys can use our boutique to purchase bakery items, chocolate and pastries, while visitors to our restaurant can stop-off for their weekly shop en route,” he adds.
Spinneys’ ability to attract a captive market of target customers has provided a perfect platform for Lenotre’s first Dubai venture, but a supermarket location is by no means a prerequisite for the company.
“We don’t necessarily look for these types of locations, but this store’s visual prominence plus the added advantage of Spinneys’ car parking facilities was such a great opportunity for us,” adds Abi-Aad. “Our partner group Gourmet Catering & Hospitality services (GC&HS) has a very good relationship with Spinneys, and we were not the only company to approach them about this site.”
Lenotre takes an integrated approach to the food business, and its UAE operations will include upscale boutiques, restaurants, cafés and specialised catering.
“Lenotre Paris is ideally placed to bridge the gap between haute cuisine and convenience, providing the highest quality goods in a fine yet casual dining experience,” comments Faisal bin Juma Belhoul, managing partner of Ithmar Capital, the private equity company that manages GC&HS.
The outlet’s location in an upmarket retail environment further reaffirms its strategy to marry ‘quality and style with convenience’, Belhoul adds.
