LG advertising brief goes up for grabs

Technology giant LG has put its advertising account for the Middle East out to pitch, Campaign has learnt.

Technology giant LG has put its advertising account for the Middle East out to pitch, Campaign has learnt.

The firm has invited five agencies to take part, including the incumbent Team Y&R.

Hamad Malik, LG’s director of marketing and corporate communications for the Middle East and Africa, said that the brief would be extended to include Turkey and South Africa.

“It’s a very complicated and extensive brief and has all the elements of creative and media strategy planning,” Malik said.“An agency will be selected and finalised by the end of the month.”

Malik refused to be drawn on the reasons why the company had launched a review, but it comes as the company has been making changes to its regional PR representation. In January LG denied it was looking to replace Polaris Public Relations in the Middle East after appointing a new agency for Saudi Arabia.
