The organisers of tonight’s Eagles concert in Dubai have insisted that the event will go ahead despite hazardous weather conditions.
The veteran US rock band – famous for their 1977 rock hit ‘Hotel California’ – are due to play at the city’s Sevens Stadium this evening.
However, organiser Done Events was forced to issue a statement on the status of the gig after Dubai was battered by sandstorms throughout the afternoon.
“The current situation is that the show will go ahead as planned,” the statement read.
“Our top priority is always the safety of the public and should weather forecasts predict hazardous conditions, appropriate decisions will be made and a further statement released.”
It added that a further update would be sent out before doors opened for the gig at 6pm.
The band’s appearance at the The Sevens Stadium in Dubai is their first Middle Eastern performance in the Eagle’s 40-year history.
The foursome will perform a two-hour gig featuring classic hits such as ‘Hotel California’, ‘Desperado’, ‘Life in the Fast Lane’ and ‘Take It Easy’.
The band are due to take to the stage at 9pm UAE time.
