Luxury watch house Chopard will hold a two-day competitive rally in Dubai on November 10-11 to bring together 30 teams that will drive from the city in vintage automobiles along some of the UAE’s most scenic desert and mountain roads.

The Chopard Classic Rally Dubai, a collaboration with brand partner Ahmed Seddiqi & Sons and Emaar Properties, will test the timing and navigational skills of 60 drivers, who will have the opportunity to challenge their driving abilities.

The journey will begin from the iconic Burj Khalifa in Downtown Dubai going towards the northern emirates of Sharjah, Ajman, Fujairah and Ras Al Khaimah.

The rally map will follow a different challenge on each of the days, with the mountains of Hatta and Jebel Jais, the UAE’s highest mountain, acting as main landscapes. A gala dinner will take place on the evening of the final day, during which the winners will be rewarded.

Chopard has long had a unique relationship with racing, having participated in a number of classic rallies, including the world’s most famous regularity race for classic cars, Mille Miglia. It has since created a collection of luxury sports watches. Karl-Friedrich Scheufele, Chopard co-president, is a passionate driver of collector’s cars. Scheufele will be taking part in the Dubai rally’s first edition, competing alongside pilot Jacky Ickx.

In line with the event, Chopard will launch a 20 piece limited series, Time Traveler One – Time of the Desert, produced with a refined sand color dial inspired by the golden dunes of the UAE. The watch is meant for the Emirati gentleman travelers, according to the brand. Two of the watches will be given to the first place winners of the rally.
