Aston Martin has unveiled the Valiant, a new ultra-exclusive track-focused vehicle that is also road-legal.
This special edition car, developed through the company’s bespoke service Q by Aston Martin, originated from a personal commission by Formula One driver Fernando Alonso.
Limited to just 38 units globally, the Valiant is set to continue Aston Martin’s long-standing tradition of producing highly collectable special edition models.
At the heart of this automotive marvel lies a powerful 5.2-litre Twin-Turbo V12 engine, capable of producing an impressive 745PS. This powerhouse is mated to a bespoke 6-speed manual transmission, offering driving purists an unparalleled connection to the machine.
The Valiant’s chassis has been specially tuned to enhance track capability, featuring Multimatic ASV dampers and recalibrated electronics. Its spectacular all-carbon fibre bodywork not only reduces weight but also increases downforce, ensuring optimal performance on both track and road.
“Valiant is born from my passion for driving at the limit and I have enjoyed working closely with the Q by Aston Martin team on both the design and technical specification and believe we have created a masterpiece,” said Fernando Alonso, Aston Martin Aramco Formula One Team driver.
The Valiant’s design pays homage to the iconic ‘Muncher’ Le Mans racer while incorporating cutting-edge materials and technology. Weight savings have been achieved through the use of magnesium, titanium, and advanced 3D printing for key components.
Marco Mattiacci, Global Chief Brand and Commercial Officer of Aston Martin, described the Valiant as “a modern masterpiece” that “embodies Aston Martin’s determined commitment to build rare and extraordinary cars for true drivers.”
The vehicle boasts several unique engineering highlights, including a 3D-printed rear subframe that saves 3kg, a magnesium torque tube reducing mass by 8.6kg, and lightweight 21″ magnesium wheels that improve steering response and wheel control.
Inside the cabin, drivers will find a pared-back, lightweight interior designed to enhance connection and driver focus. The cockpit features extensive use of exposed satin-finish carbon fiber, strategically placed seat padding, and finely-tailored lightweight upholstery.
The Valiant is set to make its public debut at the 2024 Goodwood Festival of Speed next month, with Fernando Alonso himself behind the wheel for one of the demonstration runs. First deliveries are scheduled to commence in Q4 2024.
