Apple has announced that the iPhone 6 will be available to order in the UAE from September 27 next, just one week after its launch in the US. The prices of the previous models, iPhone 5s and 5c, have already dropped by as much as AED500 ($136), which is a decrease of around 18 percent.
Emirates247 reports that the iPhone 5s (16GB) was listed yesterday on the Apple online store in the UAE for AED2,599 ($707), and the iPhone 5c (16GB) priced at Dh2,199. However, this morning both models are available for AED500 cheaper on the official Apple website – AED2,199 for the iPhone 5s and AED1,699 for the iPhone 5c.
Older models of the phone being sold at various retailers in the UAE are expected to be available at even lower prices, particularly when the new iPhone comes available later this month.
Apple has confirmed, via their UAE website, that it will take orders for the iPhone 6 from September 27.
Prices for the new phone start at AED2,599 for the iPhone 6 (16GB), rising to AED2,999 for the iPhone 6 Plus (16GB).
Online retailer JadoPado, which sells iPhone devices with FaceTime enabled, expect to start making deliveries a week earlier than the official Apple store, on September 20th.
“We’re expecting stock and to start making deliveries on September 20th, week before ‘official’ availability,” said Omar Kassim, founder of JadoPado.
