Dubai has been picked as the setting for a post-Christmas
fitness bootcamp being broadcast on one of the UK’s leading breakfast
television shows.

‘Downsize in Dubai’, which launched on Jan 9, is following
four viewers of ITV’s Daybreak show as they struggle to shed their Christmas
weight in the sunny Gulf emirate.

The segment is broadcast live to around 700.000 viewers each
morning, fronted by reality TV star Mark Wright, who rose to fame in the series
‘The Only Way is Essex.’

Wright, who was a runner-up in the ‘I’m a Celebrity’ series,
said he was excited to be visiting “exciting Dubai” to film the show.

“We can all get a bit lazy after the Christmas binge, but
I’ll be ready to motivate our recruits and whip them into shape as we take them
to amazing Dubai to get fit for 2012,” he said.

The camp is being shot at the Atlantis hotel on Dubai’s Palm
Jumeirah.

Brits are among the highest spending tourists to the UAE,
with thousands visiting the Gulf country each year. A report by Visa last year
found Brits spent an average of $441.2m on their Visa cards in 2010 while in
the UAE, followed by US tourists who spend an average of $301.9m
