Man U’s Ryan Giggs to appear on Maradona’s Dubai reality TV show

Football talent show will be retired player’s first TV appearance since being announced as new deputy coach

Manchester United’s Ryan Giggs is to appear in Diego Maradona’s new football-based reality television show for Dubai TV, it was confirmed this week.

The 40-year-old newly retired player released a video clip of his time in Dubai, marking his first television appearance since being named assistant to new Manchester United boss Louis van Gaal next season.

Giggs was in the emirate on a holiday but took time out to appear on Diego Maradona’s new Dubai television show The Victorious, a new reality TV talent show which aims to find the next big football superstar.

“It’s great to see the young players doing so well and being given a chance. I’ve really enjoyed it, it’s been a really successful night,” he said in a video clip.

Maradona’s show for Dubai TV began airing in March and travels to 16 Arab countries. A total of 22 young footballers will be chosen to compete, while the final winner will be announced a week before the 2014 World Cup this summer.
