Five cleaning habits for a more organised life

Top tips to stay organised and clutter-free

Whether it’s at home or in the office, clutter is never easy on the eye or the mind. In fast-paced Dubai, many might find it tricky to avoid pile-ups, for example.

According to the National Association of Professional Organizers, people spend one year of their lives looking for lost items due to clutter.

So, to avoid wasting time and creating mess, global cleaning company Helpling.ae has come up with five tips to stay organised and clutter-free.

1- Put it back: If you take anything out of its place, put it back immediately after you’ve finished using it. Whether it’s a file, a shirt, or a dish, placing things directly back in their places keeps clutter from compiling.

2- Box it! Putting things in boxes or trays can help keep them tidy and compartmented. For example, a special tray for TV remote controls can avoid losing their place and can help you find them easily. This method can be applied to things like jewellery, business cards, or even kitchen gear.

3- Paper-free: Because it’s easy for paper to pile up, it creates mountains of mess, especially at the office. Because we live in a digital world, almost everything is available online. Try to use cloud storage like Drive or Dropbox in order to lessen mess and contribute to the environment at the same time.

4- Minimalism: Adapt a minimalism approach when it comes to the office. This will give you more space physically and mentally, and according to Helping.ae, more clarity. The company says minimalism is “a way to escape the excesses of the world around us, the excess of clutter and having too much.”

5- Dusting and vacuuming: Though not many enjoy the act of dusting and vacuuming, it’s an essential part of keeping organised. And through organizations like Helpling.ae, you can get someone else to do the work for you.
