Company: Emirates Airline
Country of residence: United Kingdom
Sir Tim Clark needs little introduction. The Brit has built a formidable airline, with services stretching to six continents and unwavering growth in passenger numbers. Emirates Airline’s successful strategy of connecting millions of people (56 million in the year to March 31, 2017) from their home countries to a third country via geographically-central Dubai has seen it rapidly bloom into a fiercely competitive international airline.
Emirates, of which Clark is president, has the world’s largest fleet of the largest planes, A380s and B777s, allowing it to carry more passengers per service, creating efficiencies. His more than three decades with Emirates was recognised in 2014 when Queen Elizabeth II knighted him.
In the past two years Clark has had to think more prudently than ever to help contain falling profits amid challenging conditions in the global aviation sector. But with his track record, Emirates is sure to continue flying high.
