In 2012, Najla Al Midfa made history. She became the first ever Emirati female to join the board of an Arab bank, when she was elected to the Board of Directors of the United Arab Bank. As an incredibly successful woman under 40, it makes sense that career development and entrepreneurship within Emirati society are very important subjects to her. This is why she founded Khayarat, an online career development platform that gives young Emiratis advice, and Sharjah Entrepreneurship Centre (known as “Sheraa”, the Arabic word for “sail”).
