Headquarters Abu Dhabi
Nashwa Jewellery is a line of pearl jewellery from Nashwa Al Ruwaini, a media personality and entrepreneur who had already enjoyed an extensive career as a TV presenter, producer and consultant before launching successful ventures in healthcare, real estate, freight, manufacturing, advertising and financial investments under her holding company, Pyramedia Group.
Since launching in partnership with Lulu Abu Dhabi, Nashwa Jewellery has already proved itself to be a proudly Arabian brand. The pieces blend modern design with natural craftsmanship, recreating the traditions of the past with a constant spirit of innovation and exploration. Nashwa Jewellery is very much part of Nashwa Al Ruwaini’s commitment to preserving Emirati culture and heritage, and a key goal is to sustain the allure of pearls in a homegrown brand that understands and celebrates this history.
At the heart of the line are the natural, untreated pearls that are harvested from the cleanest waters of Al Mirfaa in Abu Dhabi’s western region. Nashwa Al Ruwaini insists that the pearls used for her line of jewellery are nurtured through methods that protect nature and the environment, while their permanent nature means they can be passed down through the generations – much like the skills of the divers, craftsmen and traders of Abu Dhabi in years gone by.
It’s the latest success for Nashwa, the Cairo born tycoon, producer and TV personality who established her own consultancy and production company, Pyramedia, back in 1998. In 2005, she became a household name across the region with her eponymous TV show on MBC and is a member of the International Academy of TV Arts and Sciences. She is also CEO of her established charity, the Nashwa Foundation, which has contributed to bettering the lives of millions of people in the Arab World.
In 2016, she was samed CEO of the year in the Female Category by CEO Middle East 2016, awarded “Unstoppable in Media” by Femina magazine 2016, listed in the Top 50 most inspirational women in the UAE 2016, while Forbes Middle East magazine listed her as strongest Arab Woman 2016.
