Mohammed Abdullah Al Jarman has been at the head of Emirates Transport and Services Corporation (Emirates Transport) as the GM since 2007.
He is one of the most prominent Emirati leaders with a bachelor’s degree in accounting and more than 30 years of expertise in the field of institutional financial and investment work and institutional leadership, in addition to being the chairman of the boards of a number of companies affiliated to the corporation.
With the support of a highly qualified team, Al Jarman has been able to achieve a remarkable and steady transformation in Emirates Transport not only at the financial and investment growth levels, but also at the institutional and administrative development levels as well. He has also managed to empower the corporation’s position in the market, enhance its institutional reputation, and enable its status as an integral component of society by supporting and diversifying activities and programmes related to social responsibility.
All this is in addition to his successful management of the strategic and digital transition processes, restructuring projects and cost management to ensure continued growth in the corporation’s financial results over the coming years, in line with its new strategic plan for 2018-2022.
Al Jarman also took the lead during the corporation’s quality transition from a service to an investment based institution that is equipped with a coherent business system and various activities and services, moving forwards as per clear plans to expand services through business centres, to contribute significantly to the development of a group of subsidiaries and through the alliance with an elite of government and private sector agencies and institutions in the country and beyond.
This comes within the corporation’s vision to achieve excellence and leadership in transportation and sustainable services, and in line with the wise directions of the UAE leaders and the plans of the federal government to achieve the aspirations of the 2021 vision, and meet the ambitious goals of sustainable development.
Under the management of Mohammed Al Jarman, Emirates Transport has struck an optimal balance between the investment side and the requirements of governance, quality, safety, audit management, risk, social responsibility, development of its policies and systems, enhancement of the culture of commitment and production among employees.
This policy also values the spreading of the concepts of happiness, innovation and positivity within the corporation, which embraces under its umbrella more than 25,000 male and female employees, and a large fleet of more than 27,000 vehicles to serve a wide range of customers,
With that said, the corporation provides a number of integrated services in the transport, leasing and technical services sectors through eight main services and 26 sub-services. The customer base of the corporation has reached 2,480 non-individuals. This base includes a number of active clients in the public and private sectors represented by a number of ministries, as well as various private sector companies and institutions.
The director general of Emirates Transport attaches great importance to the launch and support of environmental friendly and sustainable services and projects such as CNG Vehicle Conversion Centre, the Tyre Retreading Unit, the Dry Car Wash Unit, the rental of environmental friendly cars and the expansion of green building systems.
The corporation has witnessed a remarkable development in its collaborative strategic partnerships with government agencies and institutions in the federal and local sectors as well as with the private sector institutions and major national companies. This has contributed to the development of national investments and the diversification of their financial revenues. As such, the total revenues achieved by the business centres and units of the corporation during the last year amounted to AED2.56bn.
Leading from the front
The positive leadership of Mohammed Al Jarman, advocated by long years of management experience and substantial leadership visions, has contributed to the achievement of numerous government and private awards in return for the corporation’s remarkable projects and initiatives.
Al Jarman in turn has received a number of awards including the “Golden Order of Merit Awards” in the category of “Wise Leadership in the Arab World” 2014, from Tatweej Academy for Excellence Award in the Arab Region, and the Middle East Business Leaders Award (MEBSLA) in the category of public service transformation 2015 from the American Leadership Development Association (ALDA), in collaboration with the International Leaders Magazine, and the “Asia Pacific Entrepreneur Award in the UAE” for 2016, and the “Arab Eagle Award for Excellence Management in the Arab region” for 2017.
On the other hand, Al Jarman is keen on attending and taking part in major events and activities undertaken by the corporation, in order to activate and enhance the channels of communication between the leaders and their employees, and between the leaders and external customers.
