HE Salem bin Ahmad Almoosa

Company: Salem Ahmad Almoosa Enterprises

Designation: Founder, Chairman and CEO

HE Salem bin Ahmad Almoosa is an Emirati businessman and entrepreneur who serves as chairman of Salem Ahmad Almoosa Enterprises (SAAE), a group of companies he has founded. Since its launch, it has grown into one of the leading business houses in not just Dubai but the whole GCC region.

Salem Almoosa’s entrepreneurial journey began in 1975 after he graduated from Tampa University, US, with a bachelor’s degree in economics. He founded the Almoosa Investment Group and then launched the first ready-mix concrete company in the country, in cooperation with the British company Thompson TLink, and then, alongside another British firm Hantank, he helped pioneer the use of fibreglass technology in the UAE.

Other successes followed, including a joint venture with J&P, a leading international building and civil engineering enterprise, to build Al Safa Interchange on Sheikh Zayed Road in 2006, and taking care of the Aircraft maintenance facilities of Emirates Airlines. Moreover, Pioneer AMC Contracting, part of the SAAE family, oversaw the construction of the Hatta water dams and underpinned the historical Tower of Dubai Museum.

For more than four decades we have successfully upheld our Company’s tradition of excellence, innovation, integrity and adaptability”

Almoosa Investment Group then grew to become Salem Ahmad Almoosa Enterprises, with more than 20 companies working under its umbrella including: ALCO General Transport & Plant Hire, Pioneer AMC Contracting, PAN World Travel & Tourism, Almoosa Owners Association Management Services LLC, Sea Lions Boats & Yachts Manufacturing, Ambassador Conferences & Exhibitions, Almoosa Travel & Tourism and, most pertinently for this issue of Arabian Business, Falconcity of Wonders.

Occupying more than 41 million square feet, Falconcity of Wonders is a compelling residential, tourist, entertainment and recreational destination shaped like a falcon – and thus emblematic of the UAE’s heritage. The mega-development embraces the cultures of the world with its contemporary and unique structures that are inspired by the “Wonders of the World” – including Pyramids Park, the Leaning Tower of Dubai, the Dubai Eiffel Tower, and the Dubai Hanging Gardens of Babylon, to name a few.

Its gated Western Residence, comprised of villas and townhouses, is now home to more than 500 families. It will soon be joined by the Eastern Residence, which will consist of five- and six- master-bedroom villas situated amid a peaceful and clean environment, along with accessibility to any part of Dubai within minutes. Sales will begin on September 18 at DWTC.

Pyramids Park will feature SAM Antares, SAM Polaris, and SAM Vega, that will be fully furnished serviced hotel apartments with associated leisure, food and beverage outlets, and retail offerings.

Almoosa’s business achievements in a number of sectors have long been recognised. For instance, he is an honorary member of the American Business Council of Dubai, a member of the US National Geographic Society and Dubai Chamber of Commerce & Industry. In 1985, Almoosa became a co-founder and member of the board of directors of the UAE Contractors Association.

Being influenced by his close relationship with the late Sheikh Rashid bin Saeed Al Maktoum, former Vice President and former Prime Minister of the UAE and former Ruler of Dubai, and the royal family, Salem Almoosa remains active in taking roles that support the UAE’s leaders’ inspirational vision of keeping the country as a global leading business centre. He is continuously participating in several international conferences as a member of the Dubai Chamber of Commerce & Industry, and is frequently invited to take part of official international delegations to strengthen ties with different countries through official business forums and conferences.

Almoosa has always believed in being a risk taker and is someone who is always prepared for the chances life throws his way. “Life is what you make it,” he says.
