Ali Baghdadi founded Aptec in 1980, an Ingram Micro company, and a leading technology distributor with a wide network of resellers across the Middle East. Baghdadi had earlier built a group of companies operating in Europe, the Middle East, Africa and Central Asia, having established and acquired over 20 different companies in the fields of IT, telecommunications, high-tech services, storage media manufacturing, solar and aviation technology.
Baghdadi also acquired many companies including Techdata Middle East, Paperlink UK, Softec International, APTelecom and others.
In 2011, through APTEC, he launched a green initiative and sponsored a visit to Antarctica to highlight sustainability challenges such as biodiversity, climate change and environmental degradation. His interest in aviation made him a founding member of both the Air Taxi Association of Europe and ATXA Technical Committee.
