Designation: UAE Minister of State for Artificial Intelligence
Following the cabinet reshuffle of October 2017, Omar Bin Sultan Al Olama was appointed as UAE Minister of State for Artificial Intelligence. His responsibilities include enhancing government performance by investing in the latest technologies and tools of artificial intelligence and applying them in various sectors in the UAE.
Al Olama is currently the managing director of the World Government Summit at the Prime Minister’s Office at the Ministry of Cabinet Affairs and the Future. During his work in the Future Department, Al Olama participated in developing the UAE Centennial 2071 strategy, which aims to position the UAE as the best country in the world. Moreover, Al Olama has participated in developing the UAE’s Fourth Industrial Revolution Strategy, which aims to promote the UAE as a global hub for a new age and develop a national economy based on innovation and future technologies.
Prior to his appointment, Al Olama worked on developing the UAE’s AI Strategy, which is the first of its kind globally.
