Fabio Fontana is vice president and managing director for Hewlett Packard Enterprise, Middle East.

His organisation is responsible for engaging customers and partners across the region and delivering HPE’s strategy and values to these organisations. He is responsible for the market growth for HPE’s portfolio of products, solutions and services.

Fontana joined HP in 1989 and has served in a variety of executive and managerial positions in sales, marketing and business development. He is currently the vice president and general manager for Communication, Media & Entertainment (CME) within the Enterprise Group focusing in Eastern Europe, Middle East and Africa. Previously he worked in the HPE European banking sales organisation.

Fontana recently led the Italian sales organisation.

In this role he coordinated the strategic plan and alliances to offer solutions to address the customers needs in the Enterprise and in the public sector arena.

Fontana served also as worldwide leader for the public sector partners and channel team. He was director and general manager of the HPE Services Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) Alliances team. He was also general manager of HPE’s Worldwide Cisco Systems sales and alliances. Additionally, he led the global business development team for HPE’s telecommunications business unit, where he oversaw regional business development and sales efforts to telecom service providers in a variety of emerging markets worldwide.

In 1997, he was named strategic alliances manager for Verifone, then the leading company in the electronic commerce market.

Fontana has a doctorate in Computer Sciences and AI from the University of Pisa, Italy. He also studied at MIT’s Sloan School of Management and at Stanford University. In 1999, he was awarded a patent for his work on developing the ‘Real Time Banking System,’a joint technology project between HPE, Verifone and Huntington Bank.
