The Ritz-Carlton, Dubai

The Ritz-Carlton, Dubai

It’s celebrating its 20th anniversary, having opened in Jumeirah Beach Residence (JBR) as early as 1998. Perhaps that is what makes the beachfront property so cosy when it comes to both its interiors and service.

The Mediterranean-style hotel includes 294 luxury accommodations including 193 guest rooms, 60 club level rooms and 41 suites, each with a balcony or terrace overlooking the Arabian Gulf. They are all massive in size, but their warm wooden furnishings and soothing pastel colour palettes exude an intimate feel.

The property is surrounded by great, lush gardens, which are part of the hotel’s more than 32,000 sq ft of event space. A 2,625 sq ft ballroom is popular for meetings, weddings and celebrations.

The Ritz-Carlton Spa is just as opulent as the rest of the property, featuring chandeliers and fountains covered in rose petals. In its 12 treatment rooms, guests can experience as many as 35 treatments including the signature Arabian Felix which uses Dead Sea salt and camel’s milk. The vitality area even includes heated beds, hot and cold plunge pools and steam rooms.

The hotel doesn’t disappoint when it comes to dining either, with nine restaurants and lounges in its premises, including acclaimed Asian cuisine at Blue Jade and Bedouin-style outdoor dining at Amaseena, where guests can enjoy shisha while listening to Arabic tunes sung by a live band. Other options include Italian restaurant Splendido, where signature Italian dishes are served, and beachfront Mediterranean restaurant Palm Grill, which has a laid-back environment complete with a 180-degree sea view.

The Lobby Lounge, on the other hand, is known for its quintessential afternoon tea, where guests can take pleasure in freshly baked scones and an authentic tea experience. Another relaxing option is The Library Bar, which is the perfect place for a night cap, supper or pre-dinner beverage, and has live jazz music on selected nights. Guests can enjoy a wide variety of the world’s best cigars while unwinding in lavish surroundings.

A private concierge is also on hand to make restaurant reservations, or any other requirement, in fact, both within and outside of the resort itself.

Recreation facilities are also in abundance at The Ritz-Carlton, Dubai, where guests can play tennis at any of the four courts or take a dip in either of the six swimming pools for adults and kids, which include two shaded children’s pools, one which boasts a water slide.

The hotel’s location along the JBR Walk means it is ideal for leisure travellers looking to explore the city. Nearby attractions include the bustling Dubai Marina, Emirates Golf Club and shopping malls such as the Mall of the Emirates.
