Dubai-based interior designer Rowaida Hakim has dedication down to a fine art. The self-taught Arab fine artist began painting at the age of seven and has exhibited at Sotheby’s Dubai and, most recently, in October last year, her ‘dreamy canvases’ were on show in Paris at Carousel du Louvre.
In her latest works, Hakim has taken experimentation to new heights. Over the last few years she has perfected her use of abstract and gestural brushstrokes on canvases merged with strips of luxurious 24-carat gold and silver and copper.
For the past few years the artist has perfected her use of abstract and gestural brushstrokes on canvases merged with strips of 24-carat gold, silver and copper and is using precious gemstones including – for the first time – diamonds as part of her works of art.
But if she is making headlines in the world of art, coming under the lens of local and international media, then she is having a similar impact in the business world.
Hakim is the founder and CEO of Rowaida Interiors DMCC, a high-end interior design company based in Dubai, which specialises in luxury interiors.
Her success can be seen through her Instagram account, which is followed by many international interior brands and notable figures from the world of art.
Hakim, who turns challenges into achievements, is also a leader in the real estate industry, running multiple award-winning companies, including Orient Desert, which was established in 2008 and was chosen by OPP awards as Best Middle East Agency.
