Al Benyan has been pivotal in leading the kingdom’s drive into petrochemicals, which has put the country at the top of the global chemicals industry race.

For the past year, he has also been involved in the multi-billion-dollar acquisition of Sabic by Saudi Aramco. However, the industry veteran has his work cut out this year as Sabic contends with million dollar losses, blaming low prices and a slump in demand due to coronavirus.

Al-Benyan is a member of the International Business Council of the World Economic Forum and Global Business Council of the Bloomberg Global Forum. He also sits on the board of directors of Boao Forum for Asia, International Council of Chemical Associations, Royal Commission for Jubail & Yanbu, and Saudi Ports Authority.
