K. Rajaram has almost three decades of experience in the regional auto industry completely with the Volkswagen Group. He started his career in Oman in 1983 and spent most of it in Muscat.
After working in Oman for almost 18 years, in the early part of 1996, he was approached by Volkswagen AG in Germany who requested him to relocate to Dubai to run the Audi, Volkswagen and Porsche franchise in Dubai. With his astute understanding of the market, Rajaram handled operations to ensure that the brands could increase market share in the UAE market.
When he took over as CEO, the company sold a total of 365 cars per year comprising of all the three brands. Al Nabooda Automobiles is looking at the total market of selling over 10,000 units in the UAE. He is an avid collector of bikes including BMW, Honda and Harley Davidson.
