You may not be aware of Islamic Development Bank (IDB)’s
activities but for millions of Muslims all over the world, the Jeddah-based
agency is a vital line of credit for economic and social development projects.
IDB provides funds, capital, loans and financial assistance
to 56 countries. Sitting atop this fund is Ahmad Mohamed Ali Al Madani, whose
years of experience have helped alleviate poverty in some of the Arab world’s
most impoverished regions. During the course of the last month, IDB has
provided loans to Iranian, Kazakhstani and Uzbekistani firms.
