Logicom rewards Philips resellers

Distributor Logicom sent five resellers home happy at its recent launch of a range of Philips monitors, rewarding them with 21-inch widescreen LCD televisions for their sales efforts.

Distributor Logicom sent five resellers home happy at its recent launch of a range of Philips monitors, rewarding them with 21-inch widescreen LCD televisions for their sales efforts.

Over 40 staff from 20 Philips resellers attended the presentation and dinner. Comnet, Bluebell, Quality Computer, Carapelli and Kheredmand Trading Company (KTC) were named as the top five resellers for Philips products. The winners were congratulated for their loyalty and sales by Nicholas Argyrides, new assistant general manager at Logicom Dubai.

“Logicom, acting as the bridge between resellers and vendor by holding such events, has always made both sides, particularly resellers, feel more comfortable. Our aim was to organise a warm gathering, to get the vendor and the resellers a bit closer, to provide reseller education about the latest Philips technologies and, above all, to show Logicom’s appreciation to those that supported us the most in making the Philips monitor business what it is in the region today,” said Argyrides.

Sajjad Omeid, manager at Comnet International’s Dubai branch, said: “We have done a lot of business through Logicom since we signed with them. They are a good distributor, and I think that this event has helped build our relationship. The Philips presentation was useful, and I am proud of our achievements in being named a top reseller for Philips products. I didn’t even realise until they announced it,”

Mayank Christian, business manager, multimedia displays at Philips Middle East and Africa, explained the patterns and trends in monitors that resellers can expect to see over the next year, focusing on the growing influence of LCD monitors in the market. Philips new model line covers both CRT and LCD monitors from 17”to 21”.

“Philips are struggling against the aggressive marketing of brands such as BenQ and Samsung with its monitors. How it markets this new range is going to be key to its survival in this market,” said Sunil Wasnami, purchasing manager at Quality Computers.
