Low Metro running costs

Tabreed claims its central control room that will monitor district cooling plants for Duabi's metro stations, will have lower operating costs and zero maintenance.

Tabreed claims its central control room that will monitor district cooling plants for Duabi's metro stations, will have lower operating costs and zero maintenance.

"The control room will optimise the system through continuous interaction with the customer system, to ensure the chilled water is being utilised properly. By performing preventive and predictive maintenance, it will continuously monitor the status of all equipment," said James Kassim, operations director, Tabreed.

Tabreed is to operate the central control room under a build, own, operate, transfer (BOOT) contract with the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA).

When asked how the control will impact the metro, Kassim explained: "By continuously monitoring the performance of the metro HVAC (heating, ventilation and air conditioning) system, through the return water temperature."
