LuLu Hypermarket boosts warehouse system

EMKE Group has implemented the LFS400 warehouse management system for its LuLu Hypermarket chain in the Middle East.

EMKE Group has implemented the LFS400 warehouse management system for its LuLu Hypermarket chain in the Middle East.

The company upgraded its warehousing technology after opening a 25,000m2 distribution centre for Lulu Hypermarket in Dubai Industrial Park. The facility is designed to store over 50,000 different products, including food items, electronics, clothes and housekeeping goods.

“After studying the market, we selected the LFS400 from Ehrhardt + Partner for its flexibility and easy-to-use customisation, which meets all standards in our business. We are confident about meeting and satisfying our customer requirements with this system,” said Ashraf Ali, executive director of EMKE Group.

The warehouse in Dubai Industrial Park is connected to a central IBM computer, which is located in Abu Dhabi and linked to further EMKE Group sites in locations such as Bahrain and Qatar. As part of its customised functionality, the LFS400 system will link the various regional warehouse sites with a single software installation.

“The EMKE Group can expect a higher accuracy of inventory and picking through the LFS400 warehouse management system, which is designed to optimise the logistical resources of each user, including material handling, supply chain technology and employees,” said Hermann Ehrhardt, managing director of Ehrhardt + Partner.

“Since this particular customer has worldwide activities, its warehouse management system must be reliable and meet all international quality standards, especially in the foods industry. We are permanently developing the LFS400 system to meet those high logistical requirements,” he added.
