M-commerce security partnership formed

Jataayu Software and VeriSign Inc have signed an agreement to work together to provide a secure m-commerce application for wireless customers.

Jataayu Software Ltd and VeriSign Inc have announced a partnership to provide secure transaction applications for wireless consumers.

These applications range from authentication services to secure payment services. By integrating Jataayu’s Wireless Internet Platform with VeriSign’s Wireless Trust Services Platform, the partners hope to enable wireless users to verify the identity of e-business sites and for those to authenticate the identity of the wireless user. To do so the partners will be using public key infrastructure (PKI) and digital certificate technologies.

Raj Kesarimall, marketing director for Jataayu believes that e-security issues are becoming ever more prevalent in the current e-business climate. “With the growing acceptance of m-commerce it is imperative that solution providers incorporate appropriate security and work with the latest technologies for secure m-commerce transactions,” he said.

“Mobile commerce will be the next technology to explode around the globe and the need for innovative wireless applications is imperative,” added Paul Healy, senior director of global wireless services for VeriSign. “Successful and secure m-commerce transactions are the only acceptable standard.”
