Market warms to application outsourcing

More companies are turning to application outsourcing in an effort to drive down cost and save time, says Netlink executives.

More companies are turning to application outsourcing in an effort to drive down cost and save time. Netlink is one of numerous software design, development and implementation organisations appearing at today’s show. “There has been a noticeable change in market thinking over the last 18 months… More organisations are realising the need to outsource,” says Fahad Khan, senior account architect, Netlink.Netlink’s application development services cover a wide range of specialised industry verticals, and include everything from designing the application, to devising how the application can enhance the business and then implementation. However, differentiating Netlink’s services from those of a development house in Jordan or Egypt, is the company’s project management expertise, it claims.“We are able to go in and gain an understanding for the customer and the company. From there we are able to design, build and implement the solution,” says Khan.Netlink maintains a team of account architects in Dubai, which are a local company’s initial point of contact. Companies in the Middle East are able to brief the architect, who then manages the day to day running of the project and removes any additional management headaches. “Our development team is in India, which is only three hours away, while the account architects sit here in Dubai on the doorstep. This enables us to provide the solution in the minimum time scale,” comments Catherine Hickey, managing partner, Precision PR, another brand of Netlink.
