Saudi shares closed lower on Saturday, dropping
0.5 percent, dragged down by losses in the petrochemical sector
after oil prices dropped on Friday.
Petrochemical stocks closed 1 percent lower to 5,951
points and petrochemical giant Saudi Basic Industries (SABIC)
dropped 1.4 percent.
Brent crude fell on Friday on concerns that demand for oil
will be hurt by Europe’s spreading debt crisis that also
weakened the euro against the dolalr.
