Masafi sees global surge

Mineral water manufacturer witnesses record growth in exports.

UAE-based Masafi Mineral Water Company said it recorded 10% year on year growth in exports for 2003. The company is hoping to increase this to 15% in 2004.

“Our ability to constantly deliver superior quality products has helped Masafi make a huge impact in the international markets,” said Ashraf Abushady, general manager, Masafi.

With exports accounting for 25% of Masafi’s entire business, the water giant is looking to develop new markets further a field.

“Japan is a new market for Masafi, and we are aiming to establish a presence in other Far Eastern countries, as part of an on-going expansion strategy in international markets.”

Its main export market remains the GCC, although in recent years Masafi products have begun to appear In Europe, Africa and Asia.

Created in 1976, Masafi has gradually taken command of the mineral water market in the UAE accounting for 46% of the market throughout the country.
