Maxtor will be a vocal exhibitor at Gitex this year, as in the run up to and during the show it plans to run a month long back-up awareness campaign to educate the industry on the advatages of keeping data safe.

“This campaign will educate the masses on the importance of protecting valuable data, such as documents, pictures, music and more, through a number of marketing activities,” says Rajeev Mukul, general manager, Maxtor Middle East and Africa. “Besides this, we shall also be conducting new product seminars and providing training for customers in association with our distributors, both pre- and post-Gitex,” he adds.

Maxtor’s distributors will also focus on the company’s back-up ready products, such as the One Touch II external hard drive, while also showing off the company’s new high-speed Firewire products at the show. Maxtor’s distributors are also gearing up to run a number of promotions with resellers and retailers. The company says these will in turn be supported by further end user promotions at Gitex Computer Shopper.
