The Middle East Broadcasting Corporation (MBC) unveiled its new headquarters in Dubai Media City on Monday. The six-story building was officially inaugurated under the patronage of Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Minister of Defence of UAE. In recent years MBC has operated its transmission, news, production and radio facilities from Battersea, London but decided to move its headquarters to Dubai Media City to enable the whole production process to be closer to its Arabic audience.According to MBC, the move to Dubai gave it several business advantages and the company expressed its happiness in being part of one of Dubai's Free Trade Zones, which have played a key role in the development of the emirate into an international trade centre.The new headquarters is equipped with the latest technology and advanced production equipment. The relocation is part of MBC's strategy to establish production units across the Arab world. This stratergy has already produced a number of successful shows including 'Man Sayarbah Al-Milyon,' the Arabic version of 'Who Wants To Be A Millionaire?'
