Middle East Airlines has signed up for Rapid, the revenue accounting solution from Mercator, the IT arm of the Emirates Group. The Lebanese flag carrier has selected the passenger revenue accounting version of Rapid as part of its current initiative to streamline processes, drive down costs and modernise all areas of its business.
Rapid takes the information printed on the airline passenger tickets and analyses it to produce the financial and strategic information management needs to make informed decisions. Once the implementation has been completed, MEA will be able to close its books at the end of each financial period much more quickly, boosting cash flow and protecting its profits.
"The RAPID solution will give us all the tools we need to keep a close eye on how our business is performing, and will revolutionise the way our finance department works. This is a very exciting time,” says Wael Hamdan, head of finance, MEA.
