Popular-UAE based radio presenter Lucy Stone has passed away in the UK, Shock Middle East has confirmed.
Stone, 38, joined Shock Middle East in March 2017 as the Dance 97.8 weekend presenter.
In February of last year, she took over the drive show and rapidly became one of the UAE’s leading presents and authorities on dance music.
“Lucy was an instrumental member of the Shock Middle East family and we are deeply saddened to hear of her passing,” Cameron Plant, group managing director of Shock Middle East, said in a statement. “We will miss her energy, dedication and her commitment to radio.”
According to media reports, Lucy was also the former head of music curation at Abu Dhabi’s Yas Hotel, as well as a former resident DJ at London nightclub Ministry of Sound.
“Lucy was very popular amongst her peers and she will be deeply missed by her friends and family,” Plant added. “We kindly ask everyone to respect the privacy of her family during this difficult time.”
In January, another Shock radio presenter, James Eli Aramouni, also died.
Aramouni, 28, joined Shock Middle East in October 2017 as Dance 97.8’s Drive Time presenter.
