CEO of Crescent Enterprises and president of Crescent Petroleum will give opening speech
Badr Jafar, the CEO of Crescent Enterprises and president of the Middle East’s largest privately-owned petroleum company, Crescent Petroleum, has been announced as the keynote speaker for this year’s Arabian Business SUCCESS 2020 forum, taking place in Dubai on October 28.
In 2010, Jafar also founded the Pearl Initiative, a non-profit organisation to promote a corporate culture of transparency and accountability across the Gulf region of the Middle East.
The UAE-based executive as a passion for social entrepreneurship and is a member of the Synergos Arab World Social Innovators (AWSI) Program Board of Governors, serves on the Boards of Advisors of Sharjah Entrepreneurship Centre (Sheraa) and Gaza Sky Geeks, and is Chairman of Endeavor UAE.
He is active with higher education institutions, serving as a member of the Advisory Boards of Cambridge University Judge Business School, American University of Beirut and American University of Sharjah. In 2019, he was appointed to UNESCO’s Future of Education International Commission.
Themed around SUCCESS 2020, the event will provide delegates with practical tools and insightful tips to help them be more successful in 2020, with the benefits of AI among the major topics for discussion.

Moderated by the BBC’s Andrew Neil, the event will consist of a range of business leaders, motivational speakers and experts on a range of pertinent topics such as better management of your staff, improving customer service levels, boosting sales levels and embracing new forms of technology to earn practical results.
Some of the other key speakers also taking part include Martin Adams, one of the world’s leading experts in artificial intelligence, who counts Barack Obama, Will Smith and Queen Elizabeth II among his clients, who is flying in from London and aims to demystify the topic of AI for local business leaders.
Another key speaker will be James Michael Lafferty, an American businessman, consultant, psychologist and keynote speaker. Lafferty is known for being a senior executive at companies such as Procter and Gamble Company, Coca-Cola, and British American Tobacco and also a fitness trainer, Olympic athletics coach and motivational speaker.
Faten Abu-Ghazaleh, president of Service Hero, a company monitors and ranks customer service levels in the region will explain how focusing on customer service can lead to big results and what those that are at the top of the rankings are doing differently.
Chris Roberts is a CEO who oversaw a 20 percent increase in just six months at his company Eltizam Asset Management. He will explain some of the tips he used and which win him the title of Turnaround CEO of the Year 2019.
Other areas the forum will be delving into include how to keep your staff motivated and at the top of their game, with business and executive coaches Dawn Metcalfe and Bina Mathews. Hazel Jackson from Biz Group will outline how the Middle East's first multiplayer Virtual Reality Leadership Training is helping management teams reach their full potential.
Speaking of embracing new technology, the forum will also look at the short-term benefits of going digital and cashless systems.
The forum will also analyse how companies can practically utilise new technological breakthroughs such as Artificial Intelligence, Big Data and Robotics to enhance their business processes and see results.
