Two Emiratis - between the ages of 21 and 25 - will be chosen to fill two positions at event production firm John Lewis Company's HQ in Los Angeles
Abu Dhabi media hub twofour54 and event production firm Joe Lewis Company (JLC) have teamed up to offer aspiring Emirati media talents a chance to learn from the best – in Los Angeles.
Two Emiratis – between the ages of 21 and 25 – will be chosen to fill two positions at JLC’s HQ in Los Angeles. There, the two will participate in the Joe Lewis Company’s internship programme in January and February 2020.
The programme marks the first time JLC’s internship programme has been opened to candidates in the Middle East.
As part of the six-week scheme, the interns will be able to network with industry professionals, attend high-profile events and work on JLC’s projects as production assistants.
“With JLC joining the twofour54 family earlier this year, we are delighted to be collaborating on youth empowerment,” said Maryam Eid AlMheiri. “They share our belief that to grow the media sector, investment in the development of our young talent is critical.”
AlMheiri added that “the chance for ambitious Emiratis to glean experience from the best in the business can only strengthen our thriving media industry further as they put into practice everything they learn on their return.”
Joe Lewis, JLC’s founder, said that “the talent is here and providing the youth of Abu Dhabi with the opportunity of interacting in roles and responsibilities found in live event production in USA will give them the hands-on experience in contexts similar to events and productions across the Middle East.”
“We look forward to JLC being a partner in their learning process,” he added.
To apply, candidates must be the required age and have a background in event production.
JLC’s client list includes the National Football league, Apple, Netflix and the NBA. Additionally, JLC has put on events including the Oscars, Grammy’s and Billboard Music Awards.
