Arabian Business has launched a new news-based podcast which will be broadcast on a number of platforms every Tuesday.

The Arabian Business Podcast will delve into the biggest headlines from the region and around the world, ranging from the ongoing coronavirus epidemic and global trade tensions to Dubai’s real estate sector, aviation and Expo 2020 Dubai.

The podcast is currently available on Spotify and Anchor.FM, and in the coming days will expand to other platforms such as Apple Podcasts, RadioPublic, Stitcher and Google Podcasts.

Explaining the coronavirus outbreak

In the first episode, which aired on March 3, podcast host Bernd Debusmann Jr. sat down with Dr. Wael Faroug Mohamed Elamin, a consultant clinical microbiologist and infection specialist at King’s College Hospital in Dubai.

During the episode, Dr. Elamin explains why coronavirus outbreaks are spreading in diverse parts of the globe, as well as the efficacy of response efforts, the inevitability of future outbreaks, the impact of the term ‘pandemic’, what else can be done and – importantly – whether the world should be alarmed or not.
