Melbourne to 'Crown' Arab guests

The 5-star Crown Towers hotel's 'opulence' Down Under is set to appeal to Mideast market.

One of Melbourne's most opulent five-star properties, Crown Towers, is targeting the Arab market.

The hotel's media relations manager, June Lim, told Arabian Travel News that the property, which is part of the city's Crown Entertainment Complex, boasts facilities that catered well to the Arabian market.

"These include 482 rooms, suites and villas and the exclusive Crystal Club for our VIP guests, which operates 24 hours per day," said Lim.

"Celebrities such as Bill Clinton, Luciano Pavarotti, John Travolta, Bill Gates, Justin Timberlake, Sylvester Stallone and Elton John have stayed with us here and we are sure the opulent style of this property will appeal to the Middle East market," she added.

The hotel can also provide Halal food on request as well as prayer mats and other Arabic- or Muslim-specific requirements, added Lim.

Guest rooms of note at Crown Towers include the 31 palatial villas, which are accessed by private lifts and serviced by butlers around-the-clock.

Hotel facilities include a 3000 square metre Crown Spa and convention and banqueting facilities covering more than 4000 square metres, including The Palladium at Crown.

The hotel also features a 2076 square metre pillar-less space equipped with staging facilities for a full orchestra. Within the Crown Entertainment Complex, which is located on the banks of Melbourne's Yarra River and also includes the four-star Crown Promenade Hotel, there are more than 40 restaurants, a bowling alley, cinemas, live theatres and several events venues.
