Michael Dell to make first visit to Middle East

Chairman and CEO of world's second largest PC company to visit UAE next week

Michael Dell, chairman and CEO of the eponymous PC vendor, will make his first visit to the region next week. Dell will visit Dubai on Sunday, although no other details of his visit were available at the time of writing.

Dell founded the PC company in 1984, pioneering direct sales to customers, with online retail later becoming a large part of the company's business. In the Middle East the company operates an indirect sales model through channel partners.

The company was ranked as the number two PC vendor worldwide in 2007 by analyst company IDC.
