Landmark Group founder Micky Jagtiani has been named as one of the Gulf’s Most Inspiring Indians, at a special gala dinner to unveil this year’s Arabian Business Indian Power List.
Jagtiani, who attended the event, received the award from ITP Chairman Andrew Neil, in recognition of his outstanding CSR work, including the setting up of the LIFE Trust, which the judges remarked “has been able to affect the lives of over 50,000 children annually in Mumbai, Chennai and Bangalore in India.”
The event was hosted by the Consul General of India, H.E Sanjay Verma, at the Madinat Jumeirah on Tuesday night.
Other winners included K Kumar (charity), Dr. Pramod Warhekar (Science & Medicine), Zee TV CEO Mukund Cairae (Entertainment), Ragu Kataria (Business) and Gulshan Kavarana (Most Inspiring Woman).
Earlier in the evening, ITP Publishing CEO Walid Akawi paid tribute to the contribution of Indians towards the growth of regional economies.
Akawi said: “I can tell you, as an Arab, there is a very simple reason that Arabs and Indians make very good partners. Because we are both, deep down, entrepreneurs. We create ideas, we create businesses and we create jobs.”
