A mild earthquake measuring 2.6 on the Richter Scale was recorded in Dibba Al-Fujairah on Monday morning, but no damage was caused, news agency WAM reported.

The National Centre of Meteorology and Seismology (NCMS) said that the tremor was recorded at 7.23am local time.

It added that it was at a depth of 7km and to the north of Dibba Al-Fujairah and it had no effect inside the city.

"The centre did not receive any phone calls from the population regarding the tremor or its effect in the area," said the NCMS.
