National Media Council will take action against establishments that publish unlicensed ads.
The UAE National Media Council has warned against misleading medical advertisements, Gulf News reports.
The council says a number of media establishments are violating the law by publishing unlicensed advertisements of medical products and services.
The ministry must approve all health-related advertisements, according to a cabinet resolution which took effect last March.
The council will take action against violators, it said in a statement. Licences should bear the licence number, date of issue, duration, date of expiry and language of the advertisement. Licenses must also show which media types the advertisement will be published in.
