Mitel agrees to provide IP communication solutions to Yemeni telco

Mitel, the IP communications solution provider, has established an agreement with Yemen's incumbent telecoms provider, Public Telecommunications Corporation (PTC), which will see the telco provide Mitel solutions to the market.

"The new agreement will provide state-of-the-art IP communication solutions to customers to provide flexibility, cost-savings and improve business processes and customer service," said Kamal Hussein Al-Jebry, director-general, PTC.

"We are now moving forward with plans to migrate our customer TDM base to IP and the Mitel solution facilitates seamless migration, enabling customers to retain their existing equipment." PTC will market Mitel's range of IP platforms, including the Mitel 3300 IP Communications Platform (ICP), which will be installed at various government institutions across the country.

As part of the agreement, Mitel will also supply applications for contact centres, mobility, teleworking, speech-unified messaging, video conferencing and wireless communications.
