Mobile health unit launched for UAE labourers

Emirates Mobile Hospital starts free health services for construction workers.

The first mobile health check service for construction workers in the UAE has been launched.

The Emirates Mobile Hospital has started its first mobile medical unit for occupational health and environmental safety, news agency WAM reported on Sunday.

The mobile medical unit will visit construction sites and workers cities and provide necessary treatment free of charge, WAM added.

The unit will provide a number of clinics providing health services equipped with diagnostic, therapeutic and preventive measures for workers in various locations.

Khadim Al Dari, chairman of the Emirates World Humanitarian Mobile Hospital Working Committee, said it was important to carry out regular inspections of workers to "discover various diseases in their early stages and contain them from spreading".

He added that the aim of establishing the unit was also to raise health awareness among construction workers.
