Movenpick eyes 797 more rooms for Makkah hotel
HOTEL EXPANSION: Mövenpick Hotel & Residence Hajar Tower Makkah.

Mövenpick Hotels announced on Sunday that its Hajar Tower Makkah property would see nearly 800 new rooms coming on line this summer to cater for growing demand from Hajj pilgrims.

The property said it will offer dedicated rooms with an exclusive view of the Kaaba and Haram.

The additional rooms will bring the hotel’s operational capacity to 1,200 rooms, the company said in a statement.

“We will reach our full room capacity of 1,200 rooms by mid August this year, just in time for the holy month of Ramadan.

"Dedicated rooms on five floors of the hotel will have a direct and exclusive view of the Kaaba and Haram. Two new multi-cuisine restaurants will also be launched to complete our unique customer experience proposition,” said Omar Boujlid, general manager of Mövenpick Hotel & Residence Hajar Tower Makkah.

The Kaaba and Haram-view rooms will have all facilities and amenities necessary for prayer and worship, the company added.

All rooms within the residence section will be interconnected and are targeted towards families and large groups.
