MSN Arabia and Winjig.com team up

As part of its strategy to lure more Arab surfers to its Web site, MSN Arabia has partnered with Dubai-based Winjig.com and added a ‘Quiz & Win’ channel to its portal.

MSN Arabia has introduced a new ‘Quiz & Win’ section on its Web site through its partnership with Dubai-based contests site Winjig.com. From hangman and crosswords, to quizzes on sports, movies and music, the Web site features many games and quizzes for MSN members. Over 100 winners will be chosen each month to receive prizes including Web cams, sound systems and mobile phones, which will be delivered to the winner’s home address.

“The partnership with Winjig.com and the introduction of the ‘Quiz & Win’ channel, not only offers our users challenging and varied entertainment, but gives a great opportunity to win high-value prizes,” stated Khaled Bichara, president and CEO of LINKdotNET. “This continues with MSN Arabia’s effort to partner with the leading content and e-commerce providers in the region to provide Arab users with the highest quality of localised content and services. We have been very impressed with the creative ideas from Winjig.com and hope to bring more exciting features to our users in the future.

In addition to the quizzes, the Web site also encourages surfers to write poetry at the ‘Poets Corner’ and trade unwanted items, such as CDs and books at the ‘Barter Bazaar’. Meanwhile, an ‘ePromo’ zone allows users to experience multimedia presentations on new products and services and attracts marketers to see the zone as a useful tool for online campaigns.

“We are really pleased to partner with MSN Arabia and add our site to the services and entertainment offered by MSN Arabia to its users,” commented Vikram Tah, COO, Winjig.com. “Our experience over the last year, since the site was launched, has shown us that our users want challenging questions with top prizes. The quizzes cater to all interests, with category choices ranging from Arabic music, Hollywood movies and for the more creative, a Poets corner. We have already seen a great deal of members join from MSN Arabia, since the site went live 10 days ago and look forward to getting great feedback as the prizes arrive at the doorsteps of the MSN winners!”
