Developer Nakheel is inviting tenders for the construction of a 50-storey mixed-use project on Palm Jumeirah
Dubai developer Nakheel is inviting tenders for the construction of a 50-storey mixed-use project on Palm Jumeirah, which will house a Shangri-La hotel.
Earlier this year, Shangri-La Hotels and Resorts and Nakheel signed a letter of intent for Shangri-La to manage a 290-room hotel in The Palm Tower.
Built on an area of 95,595 square metre, The Palm Tower will house a 5-star, 290-room hotel and 502 furnished services apartments, the company said in a statement. The closing date for submission of bids is November 2.
The hotel rooms will occupy the first 18 floors of the tower, while the project’s apartments will contain a mixture of serviced, fully-furnished studios and one, two and three bedroom apartments.
Nakheel said that The Palm Tower would have panoramic views of Palm Jumeirah, the Gulf and Dubai’s skyline.
Part of the new Nakheel Mall and Hotel complex, the project is due for completion in 2016.
Nakheel added that The Palm Tower will be its flagship hotel as part of the company’s expansion into the hospitality and leisure sector.
