NEC Computers partners in the Middle East were recently treated to a trip to Cyprus for a conference to discuss the vendor’s roadmap for the next year.

Bigwigs from NEC Computers, the corporate computing entity of NEC International, attended the event and laid clear the roadmap which they say will make NEC Computers a top five player in the region.

“Over the past four years, since entering the emerging markets in the region with interfrontiers, we have seen our business grow. We now have the solutions and the range of products to become one of top five players in each of the markets we do business in,” said Jean Claude Tagger, president of NEC Computers

“Our focus now is to work with our resellers to make them key value partners. We would like them to focus on their core strengths and move towards offering solutions,” added Lenia Iacovides, managing director at Interfrontiers, the channel development partner for Netapp in the region.

The event also market the four anniversary of Nec’s tie up with Interfrontiers to develop its business in the region, and Interfrontiers marked the event by handing out awards to some of its resellers.

El Araby of Egypt, won best performer year to date vs. annual performance for 2005, Oria Computers of Slovenia, picked up the award for highest contributor to NEC server sales, whilst Computer Castle of Saudi Arabia, bagged the highest contributor NEC Notebook in 2005. SICOMP from Serbia gained the accolade for the first NEC Buy, first NEC win and Microtech of Palestine was awarded for embracing the brand from day one.
