Electronics vendor Philips and computer hardware manufacturer NEC are exhibiting their joint venture at GULFCOMMS in an effort to step up its presence in the Gulf region.

NEC Philips Unified Solutions draws on a combined 50 years of experience the two companies have accumulated in providing communication systems, applications, networks and services to customers around the world.

Headquartered in the Netherlands, the company was founded last year following the signing of a Memorandum of Under-standing between the two multinationals, and employs 900 people across the EMEA region.

NEC Philips is encouraged by the rate of growth and the myriad opportunities the telecoms industry in the region has been exhibiting, and sees participation at GULFCOMMS as an integral step towards achieving its goal: a 10% share of the global enterprise communications market.
