The Net Group has signed up Doha based Al Sulaiman Travels as its general sales agent (GSA) for outbound tourism in Qatar.

Travel agents in Qatar will be able to organise all outbound trips to the UAE, Oman and other destinations with Net Tours through local branches of Al Sulaiman Travels.

“This is a significant move towards strengthening our tourism business in the GCC market,” explained Hossam Mohammed, manager of Net Group’s dedicated GCC business division.

The agreement was signed by Ali Z.A. Abu Monassar, vice chairman, Net Group and Nasser Sulaiman Haider, chairman of Al Sulaiman Group at Net Group’s head office in Dubai.

The partnership is one facet of Net Group’s plans to expand throughout the region and develop intra-regional tourism, particularly within the UAE, Qatar and Oman.

“We believe the GCC can offer multi-destination trips; one is not a representative of another, but a continuation of different themes,” said Monassar.

He revealed the company plan’s to develop new versions of the typical desert safari that has become synonymous witha Dubai holiday.

Applied to other destinations offerings could include archaeological tours in Oman.

“We can combine luxury products with this,” he added.

The Doha travel agency is part of the Al Sulaiman Group, which has interests in trading, construction, engineering, travel, shipping and logistics.

Net Group already has business tie-ups with tourism markets in Kuwait, Oman and Bahrain, and is expected to extend this to Saudi Arabia.

The company has branch offices in Abu Dhabi, Al Ain, Qatar and Oman, and overseas offices across UK, Europe, Japan and Australasia.
