New CEO at Jafza

The Jebel Ali Free Zone has announced a major management restructuting, including the appointment of Salma Ali Saif Bin Hareb as chief executive officer.

The Jebel Ali Free Zone (Jafza) has announced a major management restructuting, including the appointment of Salma Ali Saif Bin Hareb as chief executive officer. Hareb, formerly the chief planning office at Jafza, is the first lady to become the CEO of a free zone in the UAE and or the wider MENA region.

Also in the re-organisation, Ibrahim Mohamed al Janahi was promoted from regional manager, Europe, to vice president for sales; Talal al Hashimi, who was the HR director, was named as vice president, property management; while Ali Bin Damithan was promoted to vice president for customer services from within that department.

“The Jebel Ali Free Zone is today considered as one of the leading free zones in the world. A well-conceived organisational change is a pre-requisite to achieve the broader business objectives of Jafza. Striving for creativity and innovation, we realised the importance of placing our younger managers in senior leadership positions,” said Sultan Ahmed Bin Sulayem, executive chairman, Ports, Customs & Free Zone Corporation (PCFC).

“We are delighted to welcome Salma Hareb as Jafza’s new CEO. She will make a prudent and insightful chief executive officer,” he added.
